Welcome to our Previous Projects page. We have selected various loft conversions constructed by us which have different design features to help visualise what is possible. Clicking on the image will take you to straight to that projects case study page. Some previous projects have a video at the bottom of the page featuring before, during the construction phase and the completed job. All case studies shown were completed by The Loft Conversion Company (Portsmouth) Ltd. Some projects are available to view personally and can be arranged by us. A request to view a working loft conversion in progress can also be made. If we are constructing a similar loft conversion design to yours then a viewing can be arranged. This is highly recommended by all building consultants.

Case Study 1 Loft Conversion

Case study 1 is a loft conversion to a three bedroom detached bungalow, adding three extra double bedrooms, all with en-suite shower rooms. Seven pitched roof dormer windows. Three dormer windows to front elevation, two to the rear and two to the side. The existing hip roof was removed and replaced with a gable wall construction. The staircase was positioned close to the main entrance front door. Designing bungalows this way makes it practical when living there.

A rear conservatory was also built with the project which can be seen at the end of our video.

Case Study 2 Loft Conversion

A loft conversion to a two bedroom detached bungalow adding three bedrooms and one large shower room suite. Both existing side hipped roofs changed to gable walls. Built in timber framed carcassing and finished with plane tile hanging to the outside. Two front pitched roof dormers were constructed, which required planning permission. A large flat roof dormer was constructed to the rear elevation.

Case Study 3 Loft Conversion

A loft conversion to a three bedroom end of terrace house adding one bedroom with an en-suite shower room. Rear elevation dormer construction, front elevation Velux roof lights installed and existing slates replaced to entire roof. Small extension built to rear elevation. Case Study 4 Loft Conversion

A loft conversion and a rear elevation ground floor extension. The loft conversion added one bedroom with an en-suite shower room, a rear elevation dormer construction and a small barn hip removed then converted to a full gable brick built wall. The exterior of the loft conversion was constructed first allowing the scaffold to be dismantled ready for the extension.

The extension required totally removing the rear cavity wall and removing the inside wall creating an open plan kitchen and dining area. Sliding Bi-fold doors were also fitted with a clearance of 4.5 metres when fully opened. Underfloor heated tiles and a fully fitted kitchen. Read our clients review on CheckaTrade. Case Study 8 Loft Conversion

Located in Port Solent, Portsmouth adding two bedrooms and a shower room suite. Glass gable wall installed to rear elevation. Velux windows to side elevation. Dormer window installed in centre of side elevation allowing for staircase and shower room suite installation. Duration 8 weeks.

Case Study 9 Loft Conversion

A loft conversion adding one bedroom with Velux windows to front and rear elevations. With this design the lower side roof had to be extended to accommodate the staircase entering the new bedroom. A small en-suite wash closet is also included in the design.

Case Study 10 Loft Conversion

A loft conversion to a three bedroom semi-detached house in Southsea. The side elevation was a hipped roof so a gable wall was constructed to create the space. The loft conversion added one bedroom with an en-suite bath/ shower room, a rear flat roof dormer and gable wall construction. The existing slates were in very poor condition so the entire roof was replaced with new felt, batten and slates. Please note:- not all loft conversions need the roof replacing.

Case Study 12 Loft Conversion

This loft conversion in Chichester consists of two bedrooms with an en-suite shower room. A side pitched roof dormer was constructed to create enough height for the staircase. Case Study 13 Loft Conversion

This project example is situated in Hedge End, Southampton consisting of one bedroom with computer/ games room and a shower room suite. A side elevation flat roof dormer was constructed with ‘club’ tile hanging to match existing character of the house. This loft conversion can be viewed on our Video page.

Case Study 14 Loft Conversion

This loft conversion consists of three large bedrooms and a family bath/ shower room. It is a detached bungalow measuring 17 metres long by 10 metres in depth. There were 12 Velux roof light windows installed in total. Check out the client review on CheckaTrade.
